Qatar freight and licensed customs broker

Freight to and from Qatar, cleared through customs, priced from one set of cargo details.

Tell us the pieces, weight and volume of your cargo once. We price every vehicle that can carry it by road, sea or air, estimate the duty it will attract on arrival, and file the declaration in Al Nadeeb ourselves.

Where cargo crosses

The three gateways into and out of QatarA map of the Qatar peninsula. Road freight crosses at Abu Samra in the south west, the country's only land border, into Saudi Arabia. Sea freight moves through Hamad Port on the south east coast, and air freight through Hamad International Airport beside Doha on the east coast.DohaHamad InternationalAirHamad PortSeaAbu SamraRoad — the only land borderQATARSAUDI ARABIA

Proof of competence

The details that decide whether your cargo actually moves

Every figure here is a rule of the trade, not a claim about us. Check each one before you trust us with a shipment — that is the point of stating them.

  • 1crossing

    Qatar's only land border

Every road shipment in or out of the country goes through Abu Samra. There is no second route to fall back on, so a road plan that does not work there does not work at all.

Abu Samra, roughly 80 km south of Doha, into Saudi Arabia at Salwa.

  • 5years

Maximum truck age at that border

A truck more than five years from its date of manufacture cannot cross. It is a routing constraint, not a formality: the wrong vehicle is turned back with your cargo on it.

Eligibility rule at Abu Samra, by date of manufacture.

  • 12digits

Length of an HS code today

The tariff moved to twelve-digit codes on 1 January 2025. An eight-digit code — the one on older paperwork and in most importers' records — is no longer sufficient on a declaration.

GCC Integrated Customs Tariff, since 1 January 2025.

  • 5%

    GCC Common External Tariff

Assessed on cost, insurance and freight — so the freight figure is an input to the duty, not a separate number beside it. Quote them apart and one of them is wrong.

Ad valorem on the CIF value; exemptions and higher rates exist per code.

  • 0%

VAT in Qatar, as of 2026

Duty and handling are the whole tax picture on an import. There is no VAT line to budget for and none to reclaim later.

No value added tax is levied in Qatar at the time of writing.

  • Al Nadeeb

    Where declarations are filed

Qatar customs clears through one window, and a declaration reaches it through a licensed clearing agent. We are one, so your declaration is not something you are left to work out.

The General Authority of Customs single-window system.

Why one quote

One packing list answers both questions

Qatar customs will not take a declaration without a packing list stating pieces, weight and volume for every line. That is the same data that decides which vehicle can carry the cargo and what the carrier bills for it.

What you enter, once

Your cargo, line by line: pieces, weight and volume — the packing list the declaration needs anyway.

  • It prices the freight

Weight against volume gives chargeable weight, which picks the vehicles that can take the load and what each one costs. Change the mode and the same lines re-price.

  • It completes the declaration

The same lines, with the HS code and the invoice value, are what goes to customs — and what the duty estimate is calculated from, on the CIF value the freight price is part of.

Three ways in and out

Road, sea and air — and what each one is actually for

Which mode suits a shipment depends on where it starts, how big it is and how soon it is needed. All three are priced from the same cargo details, so they are directly comparable.

  • A truck waiting at a border barrier while an inspector checks its paperwork

    Road

Overland through Abu Samra into Saudi Arabia at Salwa, typically one to two days on the truck once loaded. The route for GCC-origin cargo — subject to the five-year vehicle age rule at the border.

  • A gantry crane lifting a container onto a ship alongside a quay

    Sea

Through Hamad Port. The default for containerised and bulk cargo from outside the GCC, where road transit is not an option and cost per unit moved matters more than speed.

  • A pallet being moved out to a waiting cargo aircraft

    Air

Through Hamad International Airport. The fastest of the three and the dearest per kilogram — right when the cargo is time-critical or small enough that the premium is worth paying.

How it works

Quote, book, clear

Three steps, and the cargo details you entered at the first one carry through to the last.

  1. Quote

Enter your cargo once. Every vehicle that can carry it is priced on weight, volume and destination, cheapest first, with an estimated duty against the tariff.

  2. Book

Sign up and request the option you want. The quote, the cargo lines and the reference travel with the booking, so nothing is re-keyed.

  3. Clear

We file the declaration in Al Nadeeb as a licensed clearing agent, from the same cargo lines the quote was built from.

Quoted prices are estimates in QAR. Duty is assessed by the General Authority of Customs on the declaration we file, so any duty figure shown beforehand is an estimate rather than a final number.
