Talk to us

A price you can get right now. Everything else, a person.

If what you need is a number, the quote tool will give you one in the next minute or two without anyone being involved. For anything it cannot answer — a lane it prices by hand, a consignment already moving, a customs question — here is how to reach us.

Where your question should go

  • A price for a shipmentThe quote tool, which answers straight away and needs nobody in the office. It also tells you when a lane is priced by hand instead.
  • Anything else at allWould be the phone number, email address and office below — a person, not a form that says thank you and files your enquiry nowhere. On this demonstration build they are sample values and there is nobody behind them.

Before you write to us

Two of the three most common questions already have answers

Not to deflect them — because you will get a better answer faster from the tool than from an email that has to wait for someone to open it.

  • “What would this cost?”

Enter the cargo in the quote form. Every vehicle that can carry it comes back priced on chargeable weight, cheapest first, with the surcharges that apply itemised and an estimated duty beside them.

  • “How does duty work?”

5% of the CIF value under the GCC Common External Tariff, assessed by the General Authority of Customs on the declaration we file. The FAQ and the customs page set out what that means in practice.

  • “My lane was priced by hand”

Then it is already with us — the form kept your cargo lines as a draft when it told you. There is no need to send them again; writing to us only adds detail we did not ask for.

How to reach us

Phone, email, or the office

No contact form, and — on this demonstration build — no working line either. A form would take your enquiry, thank you for it and lose it, which is worse than not offering one; a link to a sample address would do exactly the same thing more quietly. So these are shown as what they are.

  • Phone+999 SAMPLE — no telephone line existsSampleOn a real freight desk this is the number for something already moving — a truck at the border, a document customs has queried. Here it connects to nothing: +999 is an unassigned country code.
  • Emailnot-a-real-inbox@example.comSampleOn a real freight desk this is where documents go — an invoice, a packing list, a certificate of origin. example.com is a reserved domain, so nothing sent here can be delivered to anyone.
  • OfficeNo premises — nothing trades from anywhereSampleA forwarder you can walk into with original documents matters. There is no counter to walk into here.
  • Working hoursNone — nobody is on the other end of this siteSampleThe quote tool, on the other hand, works whenever you open it: it prices a lane from the sample rate card without anyone being involved.

The entries above are sample data, not obfuscated real details. Truckteches is a demonstration build, so there is no desk to reach: the address is on the reserved example.com domain and the number on the unassigned +999 country code, and neither is a link — because a link that opens your mail client and sends into nowhere is worse than no link at all.

What to include

Three things that turn an enquiry into a quote

Send these and the first reply can be a price. Leave them out and the first reply is a request for them, which costs you a day.

  1. What is moving

Pieces, weight and volume per line — the packing list a declaration needs anyway. Without it nobody can pick a vehicle or price a lane, and it is the first thing we would have to ask for.

  2. Where it starts and ends

The two cities and the mode you have in mind. If you are not sure which mode suits it, say so and say when it is needed by; that is usually enough to settle it.

  3. What it is worth, if you want duty in the answer

An HS code and a declared value per line. Without both, we can price the freight but not estimate the duty — the tariff hangs off the code and the value.

Quoted prices are estimates in QAR and rates change. Transit figures are indicative rather than contractual. Duty is assessed by the General Authority of Customs on the declaration we file, so any duty figure discussed beforehand is an estimate rather than a final number.

Faster than writing

Most enquiries are a price, and a price takes two minutes

Enter the pieces, weight and volume once and see what every vehicle that can carry the load would cost — before you spend anything on an email.
